August 18, 2009 – Charlotte, NC – Mariner, an industry-leading business intelligence and performance management solutions provider, has added Libby Preble as Director of Education Partnerships, to meet the growing information demands of Departments of Education (DOEs) and School Districts. In her new role, Libby will continue cultivating relationships with superintendents, school board members, curriculum chiefs and technology leaders to help them match Mariner’s education products to their specific needs and goals to improve student achievement.

“I’m very proud to be part of the Mariner team. Phil Morris and Joe Guy have built a great company with employees who demonstrate leadership in business intelligence while embracing Mariner’s values. In our Education Practice, we’re committed to working collaboratively with State DOEs and School Districts to help our education customers reach their student achievement goals,” Libby said of her new role.

“We want to empower educators with the business intelligence and performance management tools (dashboards, scorecards, reporting and analytic systems) so that they can make data-driven decisions that are aligned with their educational goals and objectives. The software resources available through Mariner’s relationship with Microsoft support the deep expertise that we can provide and give me a tremendous solution to offer our education customers,” Libby adds.

Libby has dedicated her 25-year career to educational excellence through the application of technology. Beginning as an educator and then becoming an education advocate within firms such as Apple, IBM and LeapFrog Enterprises, Libby has had the opportunity to work directly with school districts, Departments of Education at the State and Federal levels, educational institutions and industry trade groups. Using her consultative approach, she is passionate about matching curriculum, learning tools and assessment technologies to students’ needs to improve academic achievement. A graduate of the University of Georgia with a Masters from Appalachian State University, Libby has led innovative teams within educational organizations across the country in the pursuit and development of methods that produce improved achievement results.

“We are thrilled to have Libby join our team. Her understanding of the marketplace and commitment to education heightens the positive impact that Mariner will be able to have on school districts across the country and in our own backyard,” commented David “Fitz” Fitzgerald, Mariner’s Education Practice Manager.
