May 12, 2009 – Charlotte, NC – Mariner, an industry-leading business intelligence and performance management solutions provider, is being recognized by Microsoft for their Performance Management and Data Dashboard Solutions demo geared for K-12 School Districts and state Departments of Education (DOE). Microsoft’s Business Intelligence Demo Contest features only three Grand Prize winners from across Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Program.

Mariner’s demo guides the viewer through a typical scenario between the parent of a school-aged child and a school district leader. The parent contacts the deputy superintendent asking about the trends in end-of-grade testing. The deputy superintendent is able to see the district dashboard from the parent’s perspective and then dives deeper into the data, going beyond the parents view. Based on specific achievement goals and metrics, the deputy superintendent is able to quantify the trends and the corrective action being taken, and shares them with the concerned parent while maintaining high levels of privacy required by law.

During the demo, viewers tour the Performance Management and Data Dashboard Solution, seeing views of a fictional dashboard based on actual features that have been proven tremendously valuable by the districts and DOEs that already use the Mariner solution.

Mariner's K-12 Performance Management Scorecards and Dashboards give school district stakeholders the ability to monitor, manage and analyze performance from the individual student all the way to the district level. We help administrators, school house leaders, teachers and parents use performance management to improve data-driven decision making, student learning and organizational accountability.
