November 17, 2009 – Charlotte, NC – Mariner, an industry-leading business intelligence and performance management solutions provider, was recently chosen by Anson County (NC) School District to help establish a roadmap for the District’s online Strategic Commitments Dashboard and Scorecards.

When the initiative is completed, Anson County’s District stakeholders and educational leaders will be able to communicate the progress of their three Strategic Commitments: Teaching and Learning, Organizational Effectiveness and Engagement, enabling greater insight, accountability and transparency into student achievement. The Envisioning Phase lays the groundwork for the initiative and will support the goal of data-driven decision making.

“Our Strategic Commitments Dashboard and Scorecards Initiative is vital to our vision of using data to increase accountability across all areas of our District,” Anson County School District Superintendent Gregory A. Firn, Ed.D. commented. “Mariner’s expertise will enable us to develop a plan that supports our needs and sets the stage for improving individual student performance and instructional programs.”

Mariner has extensive business intelligence and performance management knowledge and experience with solutions specifically geared for the challenges of school districts and Departments of Education.

“We’re energized by the opportunity to work with the Anson County School District to map out its performance initiatives,” said David “Fitz” Fitzgerald, Mariner’s Education Practice Manager. “Under Dr. Firn’s leadership as superintendent, Anson County has the opportunity to put tools in place that will allow them to gain full value in using their data to improve student performance throughout the district.”

Anson County School District is located in Wadesboro, North Carolina and is comprised of ten schools that serve more than 4,200 students in PK-12 environments.
