October 29, 2009 – Charlotte, NC – Mariner, an industry-leading business intelligence and performance management solutions provider, makes available a White Paper, entitled, “Healthcare Performance Management Strategies for Highly Efficient Practices.” The White Paper, obtained by emailing healthcareinfo@mariner-usa.com, maps out a solution for improving patient and financial outcomes using performance management scorecards and dashboards.

Medical practices are eager to improve patient care, customer service and physician productivity. Mariner’s White Paper, a blueprint for achieving these goals, is based on Mariner’s experience gained while working with OrthoCarolina, one of the nation’s leading orthopedic practices. The paper describes how previously separated business, clinical and services information can be used together in practice management scorecards and become catalysts for improving patient outcome and safety, reducing costs and errors and monetizing care delivery.

“We are in a constant mode of searching for opportunities for improvement and this practice management scorecard is an important tool to identify, track and manage those improvements,” said Dr. Daniel Murrey, CEO of OrthoCarolina, who was recently profiled in HCE Exchange Magazine.

Rob Capozziello Mariner’s Healthcare Practice Leader comments, “Through our work with OrthoCarolina, we’ve seen our performance dashboards remove boundaries to consolidate and present a holistic view of information across medical practices for executives, administrators, and clinical teams. Issuing this White Paper provides an opportunity for us to communicate the value of performance management solutions to other medical practice leaders.”

OrthoCarolina, with offices across the Charlotte region including over 120 physician and physician extenders, sees approximately 550,000 patients annually.

An excerpt from this White Paper is being published in the AAOS (American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons) Newsletter, November 13th edition.
